WHAT IS A MEDICAL REPORT?
A medical report is a comprehensive report prepared by a medical professional following a medical examination.
It is formed as part of your compensation claim, to determine the extent of your injuries that you have suffered as a result of the accident, if you have had any pre-existing medical conditions prior to the accident, these could have been aggravated by the accident and this will also be documented in the medical report.
The doctor may recommend that you be referred for physiotherapy to speed up the recovery time of your injuries, this will help you make a faster recovery helping you get back to your normal daily activities.
WHO WILL EXAMINE ME?
Your medical report will be prepared by way of an independent examination by one of our qualified doctors, if you have a gender preference and would like be examined by a male/female doctor for personal reasons this can be arranged, a medical report will be prepared detailing the symptoms of your injuries, and the recovery time for you to make a full recovery.
If at the time of the medical examination you are still suffering with any ongoing symptoms, the doctor will then estimate how long they believe it will take for you to make a full recovery, the medical report will also include how the symptoms have affected your daily work and private life. This will also count towards your final compensation value.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE MEDICAL REPORT TO BE PREPARED?
Following your medical examination, the medical report is usually prepared within 5 working days, the medical report is then forwarded to yourself to confirm that you are happy with the report. Once you are happy with medical report it is then forwarded to the third party insurers for them to make an offer of compensation.
